Hello, I'm Storrie.

Hi! My name is Storrie Denton, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A) in the state of Texas. A graduate of both Texas A&M University and West Texas A&M University, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Leadership and a Master of Arts in Counseling. Prior to joining Sequoia Counseling Center, I gained experience working as a family therapist, seeing primarily children and teens.

In my time as a counselor, I have been given opportunities to work with individuals struggling with various issues, including anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, eating disorders, low self-esteem, and grief. I use cognitive behavioral therapy in the majority of my work, as well as play therapy when working with children and teens. I am also passionate about Biblical/Christian counseling, and can incorporate principles from these into my work, when requested by my clients.
 

Seeking counseling can be incredibly daunting because of the level of vulnerability one has to display. My ultimate goal with each client is to make the counseling setting a place of comfort and safety, so that we can work effectively toward reaching goals and achieving true and lasting healing. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with you!
